In the heart of the Pearl District you’ll find a boutique packed floor to ceiling with apparel, art, designer clothes, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, aquamarine, tourmaline, and original designer jewelry. Anne Bocci Boutique & Gallery carries it all in a sweet shop where clothing, jewelry and art are finely designed with love. The owner and curator of the shop is an artist herself, designing jewelry especially Tahitian Pearl pieces and is a painter, specializes in oils, and has been on the artist’s side of business for decades. She loves to support those who put their heart and soul into creating. It’s the only store that carries both Seth Aaron Henderson and Michelle Lesniak, both winners of Project Runway, and the owner supported them before with of them won the popular television show.

327 NW 9th Avenue

Basic Space Gallery is owned and operated by local artists, Christopher and Kenneth Saylor-Roberts. Their mission is to share their vision of a fine arts gallery in Portland’s Pearl District, always showcasing artists works that tell a deep emotive story. The two owners are Represented Artists alongside some of the Pacific Northwest’s best! The gallery will also spotlight an emerging artist in Portland and mentor them in their art career. There is something for everyone, no matter if you are an art connoisseur or you have never been in a gallery before. “We are featuring works of all media including oil, acrylics, ink, encaustic, wire, clay, found objects and much more. The works from all of the artist are worlds apart in aesthetic design, however, they all are threaded with the same common visceral response that lives inside the artist. You will see brightly animated paintings from co-owner Christopher Roberts, scribbled figurative drawings from the other co-owner Kenneth Saylor, brilliantly fluid abstract scapes by Erin Cadena, heavily textured architectural pieces by Karen Cruickshank, delicate wire sculptures by Alison Eriksen, deeply spiritual clay and found object sculptures by Jo Grishman, intricate powerful sculpture assemblages from Dan Pillers, jewel-toned canvases by Edyta Salak, large rich carved encaustics from Kelly Williams, and art deco inspired jewelry by Laura Black!”

Cerulean Wine

1439 NW Marshall Street

Cerulean Wine, based in Hood River, opened this Portland wine bar in the Pearl District in 2013. Featuring award-winning wines from their organic estate vineyards, Cerulean serves cheeses, charcuterie, and other snacks with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients.

Cerulean offers a relaxed ambiance, with subdued lighting, original exposed brick walls, wood beams, and art studio and display spaces. Located at 1439 NW Marshall Street, Cerulean Wine has created a unique urban space in the Pearl, where guests can enjoy local, world-class wines and contemporary art in a fully restored 100-year old building.

Cerulean’s new space was inspired by a trip to a wine tasting room, or enoteca, in Montalcino, Italy, where you can sip great wine inside an ancient walled city while sampling outstanding, simple local foods. Feeling that a similar, locally inspired but cosmopolitan space was missing from the Pearl, the owners set about creating the same feeling in Cerulean.

Cerulean Wine offers a complete wine list from the family-owned winery, based in Hood River, OR. Cerulean is focused on making wine the way it was meant to be – pure, natural, and authentic. The wines are handcrafted to reflect the land and climate in which the grapes are grown and to pair well with food, making them perfect for sharing with friends and family. The owners personally hand trim and pick the grapes on their estate vineyard, Acadia Vineyards, which grows 23 acres of organic grapes on Underwood Mountain nestled alongside the Columbia River in the Columbia Gorge AVA. The Portland location features multiple seating areas with couches perfect for meeting friends, intimate tables for sampling wine, and 12 seats at the 30-foot long, beautiful bamboo and steel tasting bar, as well as outdoor seating during warmer months.
